The Ilizarov Readings 2018 has been successfully held from the 14 till 16th of June in Kurgan. The program of three days was presented in two halls “Distraction” and “Compression” including seminars, lectures and presentations of outstanding international masters of orthopedics. Over 300 delegates from 10 countries participated in this annual meeting. This year the museum of orthopedics and traumatology, a unique exposition reciting the history of the Ilizarov Center, invited all the participants to celebrate its 25-th anniversary.
On the second day of the Ilizarov Readings on July 15, a ceremony of nomination to the honorary professors of the Ilizarov Center took place. This title is appropriated to persons who have made a significant contribution to the development and dissemination of the Ilizarov Philosophy in world medicine. This year, Mikhail Shchudlo (Russia), Qin Sihe (China), Alexander Kirienko (Italy) were nominated for the award of the title of Professor Emeritus by the Academic Council.
