Two weeks after the hip-joint replacement surgery the Russian singer Shura told reporters about his treatment at the Ilizarov Centre. The reporters were especially interested in the singer’s choice of the hospital. Alexander Medvedev said that he had heard about the Ilizarov Centre from the mass media. And after a consultation with the doctor of the Centre Oleg Chegurov, he had no doubts about choosing the hospital. Alexander Medvedev, patient of the Ilizarov Centre, says, “I am very proud of our country… we are loved here.”
Alexander Medvedev said that the pain in the leg started 7 years before. In the doctors’ opinion, no conservative treatment could help, radical measures were necessary.
“The patient had contracture of the joint, limited range of motions, 5-cm shortening. The shortening was caused by malposition of the limb and by deformity of the femoral head. The surgery allowed us to equalize limb length and regain motions in the joint; modern titanium endoprosthesis was used,” said Head of trauma and orthopaedic department No16, Dr.Oleg Chegurov, MD.
On March 1, 2018, day of his discharge from the Centre Alexander Medvedev will give a gratitude concert for his doctors and citizens of Kurgan in the Philharmonic Concert hall.
