On the 12-13th of June 2021 the Ilizarov Center held a two-day training course "EPOS in Kurgan" under the auspices of the European Pediatric Orthopedic Society (EPOS).
A two-day course on the main issues of modern pediatric orthopedics and traumatology from leading European specialists is a unique event for Russian orthopedics, both in terms of its concept and the high rating of the teaching staff. Among the lecturers are two ex-presidents and a current one of the European Pediatric Orthopedic Society, leading Russian experts in pediatric orthopedics and speakers of the AOSpine Russia. The EPOS in Kurgan Symposium has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 16 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
Due to pandemic restrictions the form of participation was hybrid: about 60 participants attended the event in person, the online broadcast watched almost 800 spectators.
The president of symposium Dmitry Popkov, Member of EPOS Educational Committee, EPOS Scientific Committee, EPOS Metabolics and Genetics Group, EPOS Lower Limb Group remarked:
“We are very pleased, first of all, with the activity of the audience, not passive watching, but participation in discussions, sharing very competent opinions. Secondly, despite the holidays and the next event with a rich program "Ilizarov readings", participation via the Internet and in person is numerous, there are over 60 participants in person from 4 countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan. Third, the excellent work of our technical support team.
